Adidas Challenge Cup, Final Game

Hello everyone and welcome to Random Writings! I am the author Random Writer!

Happy first day of October. Below is a modified press release that I wrote for the final game ( NOT for a trophy or prize ) of the 5th Annual Adidas Challenge Cup. Please enjoy.

ME – The Eagles men’s soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to the Monks on Saturday afternoon at a local soccer field on day two of 5th Annual Adidas Challenge Cup.

The match went scoreless until The Monks (2-1-2) were awarded a corner kick in the 55th minute. Off the set corner kick play, Freshman Midfielder found Sophmore Forward for the lone goal of the game.

Junior Forward and Senior Midfielder led the Eagles (0-3-1) offense with three shots.

The Sophomore Goalie made four saves for the Monks.

The Eagles Junior Goalie made 12 saves in the loss.

The Monks outshot the Eagles, 23-13.

“It was another tough loss for us today,” said Eagles head coach. “Given the direction we’re headed, it was somewhat positive and encouraging. But we got to get back to training this week and see how we can piece the puzzle and get ready for the next game.”

Eagles goalie and Senior Midfielder  were named to the All-Tournament Team along with The Monks’ Sophmore Defensemen (MVP), Freshman Midfielder, Sophmore Midfielder and Sophmore Forward, the Huskies’ Senior Midfielder , Sophmore Midfielder and Junior goalie, and the Spartans’ Junior Midfielder, Junior Guard and Senior Midfielder.

Eagles open up NAC play on Saturday, September 17th
